Broad Peak (8,051 meters / 26,414 feet), the 12th-highest mountain in the world, is situated in the Karakoram Range in Pakistan. Known for its long and broad summit ridge, Broad Peak stands alongside K2, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II as one of the most prestigious climbs in the region. The peak was first summited in 1957 by an Austrian team led by Erwin Schneider and Fritz Wintersteller.
Although Broad Peak is less famous than its neighboring giants, it remains one of the toughest 8,000-meter climbs due to its altitude, steep slopes, and unpredictable weather. Climbers must have high-altitude experience, as the conditions are similar to those of K2 but without the same level of traffic.
